Malcolm Parrish
Malcolm C. Parrish was the first TLAB Scholar to realize one of our targeted reading performance standards. Malcolm now reads at 850 wpm (words per minute) and 90% plus comprehension rate! He is an exceptional leader, student and athlete. Malcolm is a freshman at Morehouse College, Atlanta, Georgia. He is majoring in Economics and a member of the Morehouse Business Association. Also, he is a member of the Morehouse Golf Team and volunteers at the Frederick Douglass Teaching Institute in Atlanta.
He graduated from Detroit County Day in 2009 while earning cum laude honors. Malcolm was captain of Country Day's Varsity Golf Team and was a member of the Science Olympiad team. While at Detroit Country Day School, Malcolm's civic interest included volunteering at Gleaners Food Bank and Metro Detroit's Summer in the City program.He also served as a teaching intern at Hollywood Golf Institute. During the spring of his senior year, Malcolm spent time learning and studying investment management while interning at Smith Barney.
